MARZETTE BONAR
PETER PAN
VFX Storyboard Artist - PreVis
What a privilege to work on this light hearted film creating pre-vis images and storyboarding scenes using Photoshop or sketching with pencil.
I was asked to come up with an unusual event in the sky signaling that Peter Pan's magical powers are about to return. The Aurora Borealis' delicate colors fit in perfectly with the atmospheric feel on the ship, so I incorporated it into several shots. To storyboard this, I combined a series of 'green screen' stills of the actors with my aurora art. (see one example above)
Watch for more magical events in the video clip below, where I designed: the floating stars, Peter turning pink and the super sonic blast. (Don't blink or you'll miss it;-)
In this shot from the film, the effect falling from the sky is more opaque and white-ish than what I had illustrated. As reference, I had used a magnificent but delicate space phenomena with translucent pale green and accented areas of magenta. It must have been difficult or impossible to reproduce in 3D since magenta and green make grey!

This video clip shows more effects that happen after Peter gets a 'hidden kiss' from Wendy.
Much thanks to VFX Sup. Mark Stetson for being such a gem to work with!
Storyboard samples from various scenes when Peter and the children approach and then enter the island. The frozen rivers melt and flowers bloom when Peter Pan flies by.
